Raku Bowl







The clay cracked while i was throwing it; so i decided to make it "artistic," know what i mean? Haha... anyways, a teal crackle, grey and clear glaze meshed together. Approx. 3in tall; 5.5in wide.     FYI- Our raku glazes don't contain lead, but they still aren't recommended for food. It has to do with the durability of the glaze and the likelihood of colorants leaching when in contact with acidic or basic food items. Also, some raku surfaces are rough, crackled, or porous and might make a welcome home for bacteria.
